It seems as though America is just beginning to realize what other countries have known for years and that is that breathing is the best natural cure for anxiety. Specific breathing techniques can relieve stress and anxiety as well as help your mind to focus. Using breathing as a natural cure for anxiety evokes your body into its own Relaxation state without the use of dangerous medication.

Tibetan and Buddhist traditions from ancient times practiced breathing techniques during meditations. They knew then what society is just becoming familiar with now and that is that breathing is a natural cure for anxiety. Additionally, it is excellent at helping to relieve stress that often goes hand in hand with anxiety as well.

The thoughts that run through your mind are the actual creation of anxiety. When you learn to breathe properly through Meditation, you can control your thoughts. This is a natural cure for anxiety because when you are meditating, you clear your mind completely so your full attention is focused on the thought that does happen to come into your head. When you are more aware of your thoughts, you can control them better. Breathing properly is an effective natural cure for anxiety because it promotes self-awareness which ultimately leads to reduced stress.

This natural cure for anxiety allows a calming state to take over your nervous system. When this happens, you are centered and better able to handle anxious thoughts or stressful situations.

Since it is nearly impossible to completely avoid stress, learning proper breathing techniques can relax your muscles and lower your blood pressure and place your mind in a restful state where you can become rebalanced and mentally strong.

Using breath awareness as a natural cure for anxiety allows you to completely concentrate your full attention on a slow inhale and a slow exhale. By focusing solely on your breath and nothing else, you are able to clear you mind and place your body in this much needed calm and restful state.

You can also use deep breathing techniques as a natural cure for anxiety. This is the easiest way to get your body into a state of Deep Relaxation. It is important to keep in mind that when you are using breathing techniques as a natural cure for anxiety, you want to remain alert and aware, even though you are relaxed.

You can perform breathing techniques either sitting up or lying down. The important thing is that you are comfortable and will not be disturbed however, you do not want to be so at ease that you fall asleep either.
